Situated at Mahindra World City, Jaipur - this heavy engineering plant was planned as per assembly lines requirements, multiple processes & services specifically needed for the unit. Optimisation of spatial design was done for economy and standardisation of structural system for speed of construction. The attempt has been to craft the workspace which is build locally for the global context, using local materials such as red sandstone and traditional jali patterns with technologically advanced system of laser cutting to give protection to the western façade within the semi arid climate of Jaipur. Protection of the microenvironment from the harsh environmental conditions outside like heat and glare helped us derive our basic architectural shell structure that would be a joy to work in despite the hot and dry climate of Rajasthan. The west also brings in the winds, which were planned to be filtered by the plants and trees in the frontal foreground.
