The project located near employment opportunities in information technology and high technology industries made the site suitable for young professionals. The design accordingly focussed on affordable 01 Bed Room and 02 Bed Room tenements as a convenient solution responding to this specific user category requirements. A central space/ lawn and other common amenities were carefully integrated at various levels which included sports facilities including swimming pool, crèche for children, yoga terrace etc. all of which are growing in necessity and popularity amongst young people. The scheme was taken up with the developer in a spirit of exploration whereby each of the apartment is carefully planned such that light is brought into the heart of the home and there is a movement of breeze across the house at all times of the day and at varying climatic conditions. The design also ensures that all primary spaces of the unit get a private balcony that enjoy a view of the green space. There has been a conscious effort at scaling down spaces to bring more humanised and intimate massing by creating formed terraces and stepping of building at topmost levels. These usable terraces are also punctuated by pergolas for play of light and shadows along with imparting functional efficiency. The building elevation is designed as a modern & contemporary tower with a play of neutral shades of greys and white complimented with terracotta - whereby even the service cores such as utility balcony, ducts and common circulation shafts were celebrated as elements to break the monotony both horizontally and vertically with features making the skyline playful, joyous and pleasing. In spite of small apartment units, parking was sensitively planned whereby each tenement gets a dedicated car park which goes well beyond the requirements specified in the development control regulations. Further, this parking configuration was achieved without the creation of basement as we considered it to be challenging to maintain by the residents in the future, therefore a podium was created with a dedicated ramp thereby creating naturally ventilated covered car parking at 02 levels above ground.
